Dry cutting

There is more than one way to get a hair cut. But, there is only one way to get a really spectacular style. Top stylists have learned a skill that has been passed down from stylist before them - The dry cut.

Not taught in schools, the art of dry cutting is when a stylist washes, dries, flat irons and styles the hair before taking shears to the hair. This style is growing increasingly popular in high-end and boutique salons across the country.

Some stylist believe the popular practice of cutting the hair when it is wet can lead to problems because, not only is the hair hard to predict what it will do when it dries, it allows for sub-par stylist to camouflage a bad cut with a quick-fix style when blow-drying.

While dry cutting hasn't become main stream, more and more stylists are picking up on the trend. It is great for the clients to dry cut, as a stylist you can target hairs weight and texture. It also allows you to clean up more split ends.
