The B.W. Boyd Shears company began approximately 25 years ago with B.W. Boyd, his wife Ritsuko, and their son Kirk, who took care of all their service work. Their goal was to provide the very best Japanese cutting tools at an affordable price.

In May of 1999, B.W. Boyd sold his company to a Japanese company and a friend on over 20 years, Utsumi Japan. As president of Utsumi America, Christy Hagino continues to follow the philosophy of B.W. Boyd Shears, by offering the very best quality Japanese shears at the very best price.

Utsumi Japan, is working with their factory in Japan to offer new products and new ideas to stylists in the United States.
